Royal Palm Estates is located on the edge of West Palm Beach in Palm Beach County, Florida. The history of the region dates back to long before Juan Ponce de Leon led a Spanish expedition up the Florida coastline. The region had been inhabited by various native tribes for centuries prior, all of which thrived off of the abundance of the region. Shortly after Europeans arrived, the natives began being displaced.

The area of West Palm Beach got its start in the late 1800’s. It remained small in size until the 1920’s when the population boomed. The Great Depression of 1929 slowed the boom, until the U.S. government began pumping lots of money into the region during World War II.

Today

Royal Palm Estates is a small community on the edge of West Palm Beach still today. The population is around 4,000 people. Its residents enjoy the quiet community amidst the bustle of the popular West Palm Beach.

Things to do

The community is primarily residential so everything that there is to do is outside of the community itself, unless you are visiting Caroline Park. Luckily West Palm Beach and the Miami metropolitan area are only short drives away. West Palm Beach is known for two things primarily, golf and beaches. People come from all over to play golf in the area. There are hundreds of courses within driving distance of the community. They range in difficulty level. Some are private courses and some are public, all of which are great places to take in the magnificent Florida sunshine.

Beaches are the other thing West Palm Beach is known for. There are several within a short distance. These beaches vary from quiet and cozy to bustle and action. No matter what kind of beach you are looking for, you are sure to find it. The Gulf Stream passes right by the coast so the water is always warm. Visitors to the beach take part in various beach and water activities including sunbathing, snorkeling, drift diving on the Gulf Stream, wildlife watching, boating, jet skiing, parasailing, fishing, and any other water activity you can think of. There are several places along the coast to rent or charter equipment.

In addition to golf and beaches, the area is great for families. Locals and visitors love the Rapids Water Park. The rides vary in intensity, so everyone in the family will have a great time. There are also several wildlife sanctuaries and nature areas. Royal Palm Estates is right near the Palm Beach Zoo and Conservation Society and the Mounts Botanical Garden. Both of which offer their own unique nature experience. In addition to those two the Lion Country Safari is not far away. Visitors to the safari can drive around while animals roam close to their vehicles. Kids love feeding the giraffes. Other spots include the McCarthy Wildlife Sanctuary, South Florida Science Center and Aquarium, and the Loggerhead Marinelife Sanctuary. All of which are sure to entertain.

The weather is perfect all year round and there are plenty of things to do outside to enjoy it.
