More About Lake Shores, Florida

Lake Clark Shores, Florida is located on the southern edge of West Palm Beach in Palm Beach County, Florida. The community was incorporated in 1957 and sits around a lake named for an early settler to the region, C.J. Clark. The area of West Palm Beach has a rich history that dates back to well before the Spanish explored and invaded the area, taking it from the Seminoles who had lived there for centuries. The area began to resemble the community it would become in the late 1800’s. Following a quick population boom in the early 1920’s, the community remained small, until World War II. West Palm Beach was used as a base of operations for coastal defense for the U.S. during that time and the U.S. government pumped tons of money into the region as a result.

Today

Today the community remains small. Its population is only about 3,500 people. It benefits from being located just south of West Palm Beach and along Interstate 95, which connects it to Miami and the greater Miami metropolitan area.
