More information about Juno Beach, FL

History

Juno Beach is located in Palm Beach County, Florida. The area in which the town currently presides has a history that dates back to around 500 B.C.E. During this
time, various native tribes inhabited the area. Over the centuries that followed, these tribes thrived on the abundance of Florida’s Atlantic Coast. This all changed in
1513 when Juan Ponce de Leon and his Spanish expedition arrived on the Florida coast. From that point on, Europeans and their ancestors have dominated the area’s
history.

The town of Juno Beach is built out of what was the town of Juno, which was established in the late 1800’s. The town of Juno thrived throughout the 19 th century
because it was a transportation terminal that linked several major transportation networks which connected northern Florida and Southern Florida. Unfortunately
for Juno, in 1893, a new railway, the Lake Worth Railway, was built bypassing the transportation hub that had developed there. It was at this time, that Henry Flagler
started to develop a community to the south known as West Palm Beach. This meant that the community was no longer going to play an important role in connecting
Jupiter with Miami. The community therefore began to struggle.

In 1948, Bessemer Properties, Inc. platted an area of land attached to the Seminole Golf Course, which had been built several years earlier. This subdivision would
eventually become Juno Beach. The town was incorporated in 1953. The community has developed and grown ever since. The 1980’s were an especially significant
decade of growth for the community.

Today

The population of the community is around 3,500 people today. It is mainly a residential community, which triples in size during the peak tourism season. It is a
popular destination for tourists coming to the Atlantic shores of Florida because of its proximity to the countless things that there is to do between Jupiter and Palm
Beach.

Things to do

The town is located on a barrier island, which means beach and water activities are on top of the list of things to do. The community is home to several popular beaches. Visitors to the beaches take part in various water activities such as, boating, swimming, snorkeling, parasailing, jet skiing, scuba diving, and many others. Beach goers also will find the beaches to be a perfect place to soak up the Florida sunshine.

Aside from the famous beaches, South Florida is most well known for golfing. There are hundreds of golf courses within driving distance of the community. They range in difficulty and price per round. All of them are beautiful and they will impress with their stunning scenery and picturesque holes.

Juno Beach is also within driving distance of Jupiter and Palm Beach. This means that shopping, dining, nightlife, museums, and the arts are easily accessible. Both
towns offer their own unique experience.

Finally, the area is known for its nature preserves. There are several within a very short distance from the community. A few of the most notable are Loggerhead Park,
Frenchman’s Forest Natural Area, and the Busch Wildlife Sanctuary.
